Sure, spiced and canned artichokes are a choice, but to me it doesn’t taste like fresh vegetables. Canned pale yellow artichoke hearts conceal the delicate flavor of this exotic but delicious thistle combined with citric acid, as do most of the frozen sachets out there. However, Trader Joe’s bags miraculously savored the real thing. They’re great for a delicious roast with chicken, lemon, and green olives or a traditional vegan soup with chickpeas and artichokes, turned into a creamy soup, or in a classic spinach-artichoke sauce.
